So my advice would be an old office PC with a half-decent graphics card. The road that moves more realisticly under my avatar enhances the feeling of movement. It looks a bit nicer, there is more detail, texture and shadows and, most importantly, it is smoother. The ATV runs 30 fps max where the PC runs up to 70fps but most of the time in the 40-50 fps range, depending on world and number of riders. The ATV gets the "basic" profile while the PC gets the "high" profile. They cost the same but the PC beats the ATV hands down. I have both an Apple Tv and an old HP office PC from my local "graigslist" that came equipped with a cheap 750ti graphics card.
